A Clare Healthcare campaigner is calling for an urgent independent review to determine the feasibility of reopening Ennis’s former Accident & Emergency Unit.
New figures released by the HSE show that University Hospital Limerick activated its full capacity protocol every single day in 2023.
The protocol involves monitoring elective and outpatient activity, opening surge capacity beds and conducting additional ward rounds to identify patients suitable for discharge or transfer to Ennis, Nenagh and St. Johns.
