Calls For Shannon-Dublin Pipeline To Be Scrapped Over Water Charges Fiasco

The Cratloe-based General Secretary of Irish Cattle And Sheep Farmers Association is calling for the Shannon to Dublin pipeline to be scrapped in light of the water charges fiasco.

Irish Water confirmed it’s preferred option late last year, which would see water being collected from the Parteen Basin, and treated in Birdhill before being piped to Dublin.

The ICSA has criticised the €1.1 billion euro plan for supplying residents in the midlands and Dublin, who the organisation argues are unwilling to pay for the utility.
