19 people lost their lives through a drug-related death in the Mid-West in 2012.
The figure has been revealed by the Health Research Board, who say it is also the lowest figure they've recorded here since 2008.
These people are among the 350 who died from poisoning or the toxic effects of drugs, while a further 283 people died through trauma, such as hanging, or death from medical causes like liver disease.
