A second young person has died after another drowning the country.
In the latest incident a teenage boy lost his life after getting into difficulty at a lake near Strokstown in County Roscommon.
The alarm was raised just before 8.30 last night when three swimmers went missing in Drinaun lake– Two of them subsequently made it to land.
The Shannon Coastguard Helicopter along with local fishermen then conducted a search for the missing teenager and his body was found at around midnight and brought to Roscommon Hospital.
Earlier a 12 year old boy drowned while swimming in the sea off Youghal in County Cork
