More than 300 businesses in Clare have availed of the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme so far.
Figures released to the Oireachtas show 329 enterprises across the county have been approved for the Government initiative to date.
The measure, which allows businesses to claim for 40 percent of the increases in their energy bills between September last year and February this year, was introduced in response to soaring gas and electricity prices.
Nearly €450,000 has been paid out to businesses in Clare alone, though nine firms in this county have had their applications to the scheme denied since its inception.
