Forty housing estates in the greater Ennis area have yet to be fully taken in charge by Clare County Council.

Councillors from the Ennis Municipal District have been provided with details of the estates in question, which are located off the Shanaway, Lahinch, Tulla, Limerick and Gort Roads, as well Clonroad.
Other estates yet to be fully taken in charge are in the Showgrounds, Ballybeg and Claureen areas, as well as in Clarecastle and Doora.
Councils throughout Ireland are taking over the running of estates so as to ensure that they're completed satisfactorily but Fianna Fáil Councillor Clare Colleran Molloy feels these figures show that a large amount of work still needs to be done.
