New CSO figures show there were just over 600 marriage ceremonies in Clare last year.
Seven of the 604 weddings celebrated here last year were for same-sex couples – four females, and three males.

Of the rest, 60% were Catholic ceremonies, a figure which is marginally back on the year before – but still ahead of the national average.
The figures also show a strong preference for choosing local, as over 85% of brides and grooms living in Clare married someone else living in the county.
