Eight patients with COVID-19 are being treated at University Hospital Limerick – a jump of 5 in the past week.
24 patients suspected to have the virus are also being treated in Dooradoyle.
It comes as the Government has asked the HSE for better data on the number of Covid cases in hospitals.
It’s believed a letter from Government Ministers has gone to the National Public Health Emergency Team to request that only people who are in hospital because of the virus, and not those who happened to test positive in entry should be counted.
