A tall ship arrives into Ballyvaughan later loaded with a consignment of wine to mark the start of the Festival of the Valleys – which combines the cultures of the Burren region with the Mediterranean.
The wine is produced at a vineyard owned and operated by a co-operative of Irish people in the Languedoc Region.
The three day festival begins this evening with the arrival of the restored tall ship- Bessie Ellen and will feature song, dance, culture, culinary and sporting events over the weekend.
