The funeral of Clare novelist Edna O’Brien takes place this morning.
The legendary novelist, playwright and poet passed away peacefully in London at the age of 93 last month and will be remembered today at a ceremony in her native Tuamgraney.
The mass will take place at 11am at St.Joseph’s Church with burial afterwards at Holy Island, Inis Cealtra.
Edna is survived by her sons Carlo and Marcus Gebler, grandchildren, great-grandchildren extended family and large circle of friends.
