Anti war protesters are gathering at Shannon airport this afternoon in their ongoing protest over US Military landings there.
Demonstrations organised by Shannon Watch have generally been small in number in the past, and the group admits there’s less frequency in the volume of flights they’re opposed to landing in County Clare nowadays.
But they’re still opposed to the US Occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan and are calling on the Irish government to uphold Irish Neutrality by stopping the military planes from refuelling in Shannon.
They’ve called on protesters to gather at the roundabout before the airport entrance for a vigil this afternoon.
