Gardai are continuing to investigate the activities of dissident republicans after a large quantity of fire arms and ammunition was found in a search carried out in South East Clare.
The discovery was made in Meelick, as part of an ongoing investigation.
The ammunition, along with a number of firearms, explosive components and documentation were found during the search of a wooded area on Friday evening.
The Army bomb disposal team were called and declared the area safe before an examination of the scene was carried out.
The items seized were removed for forensic and technical examination, and no arrests were made as the investigation is ongoing.
