Average House Price In Clare Jumps To Over €240,000

Average house prices in Clare have risen by over €9 thousand in the past year.

The latest report from Daft.ie suggests the median price of a house in this county is now nearly €243,000.

Daft.ie’s House Price Report for the last quarter of 2023 shows that property prices in Clare fell by 0.7% between October and December.

The average price of a home here is now €242,680, 21% below its Celtic Tiger peak.

However, there’s been a 4.3% rise in year-on-year prices in the county, with prices now up almost 103% percent from their lowest ever recorded point.

People with larger households looking for a home appear to be taking the brunt of the increase with an average five bed detached house increasing over 13% in price over the last year to €337,000

On the other end of the scale, the price of a one bed apartment has dropped by almost 10% to €90,000 and a two bed terrace is on average nearly 2% lower in Clare at €117,000.

Meanwhile, the median price of a newly built home here has now soared to €363,200.

Clare, however, is still one of the cheaper counties for buying a house in Munster, with only Tipperary and Waterford City having a lower average asking price.
