Average Price For A Home In Clare Up Over 10% In A Year

The average price for a home in Clare has risen by over 10% in the space of a year.

A new report from the Central Statistics Office shows the median price paid for a dwelling in this county in the year to March was just under a quarter of a million euro.

54 dwelling purchases were completed in Clare in March of 2024 which is 20 fewer than the same month last year.

In the year leading up to March, the median price paid in a housing transaction in this county was €245,000.

This is up from €220,000 the previous year which indicates a rise of more than 11%.

This is the highest figure for Clare since CSO records began and is €5,000 above the figure of €240,000 for the 12 months to January of this year.

In the Ennis eircode area, the median price for a home is above the county average at €252,000, while Shannon’s average is below it at €216,000.

In the Kilrush region meanwhile, €195,000 was the median for a property purchased.

Nationally, the average price for a home purchased increased by 7.3% in the 12 months to March with €333,000 being the median price of a dwelling purchased in that period.
