Bank of Ireland says it has 'identified' the issue which led to a delay in payments today.
The issue arose earlier this morning after a number of complaints for customers that wages hadn't been paid into their accounts.
There is no information as to how many customers are affected by the issue but the Bank says it is working to resolve it.
In a statement issued this lunchtime, a spokesperson for the bank says it will continue to provide updates to customers across all channels – with a further update due 'shortly'.
