Clare families who’ve lost out on respite services provided by the Brothers of Charity in Limerick are set to vent their anger at the Taoiseach today over the closure of the centre.

The premises at Bawnmore was forced to shut its doors last week due to lack of funding because of budget cutbacks  affecting 63 families from Clare and Limerick, many of whom are elderly parents and carers of adults with disabilities.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen will be in Limerick today to present a cheque for the 60 million euro regeneration project and families affected by the lack of Bawnmore services hope to highlight their concerns with him.

Doolin woman Maura Fitzpatrick whose brother availed of the services is urging people to join their action this afternoon
