A body has been recovered off the Clare coast at Kilkee.
The body, thought to be that of a male, was recovered from the water by Doolin Coast Guard at around 5.30 this evening, after it was discovered earlier in the afternoon.
The remains were discovered during searches for missing Lissycasey man David McMahon, which had continued today with the assistance of members of the public, as well as Coast Guard Units from Kilkee, Doolin and Ballybunion.
A post mortem on the remains is due to be carried out at University Hospital Limerick, and searches for David McMahon have now been stood down.
