Clare County Council has opened a book of condolences for the late acclaimed writer Edna O’Brien.
The tuamgraney native passed away peacefully on Saturday at the age of 93.
In a distinguished career spanning over 60-years as a novelist, poet and playwright, Edna was renowned for breaking silence on societal issues during a repressive period in Ireland and was later elected to the Aosdána for her contributions.
The book of condolences is available to sign online on the Clare County Council website and in person in the council buildings.
