It’s claimed a brave policy change is needed to combat Clare’s rental crisis.
It follows Daft.ie’s latest rental price report for April to June which shows the average price of a tenancy in this county has jumped by more than 10% in a year to €1,425 per month.
Additionally, the number of homes available for rent in Munster has fallen by 17% since this time last year, with just 250 properties available.
Report Author and Economist Ronan Lyons has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan the Government needs to conduct a thorough audit of zoning and planning laws in order to boost housing stock quickly.
