Breen Hints At February Election Date

The Taoiseach says the Dáíl will reconvene as planned next week.

Speculation on the election date is mounting following a private meeting last night between Leo Varadkar and Michael Martin.

They’re due to meet again next week, while the Fine Gael parliamentary party will discuss the matter today.

Ahead of that meeting, Clare Fine Gael Junior Minister Pat Breen admitted that he expects a February election.

But Fianna Fáil’s Timmy Dooley has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that it’s best to wait until April.
