Businesses and residents in Broadford and the surrounding area are seeking an urgent meeting with An Post about restoring postal services to the East Clare area.
Around 150 people gathered for a public meeting in the village last night to formulate a plan of action after the local post office closed its doors without warning a fortnight ago – with customers now having to travel to Tulla.
An action committee has now been established and members will be making contact with An Post today, seeking a meeting urgently.
PJ Mason is chair of that committee and says its vital a postmaster is returned to the Broadford as it serves a huge catchment area.
