Brú Na Sionna Resident Hopeful Long Running Nightmare Finally Coming To An End

A resident of a defective Celtic Tiger apartment in Shannon is hopeful her long running nightmare is finally coming to an end.

The Department of Housing has this week launched the Interim Remediation Scheme, in which, the Owner Management Companies of affected complexes built between 1991 and 2013 can directly apply for funding for emergency works.

A 2017 inspection identified 240 premises in the Brú Na Sionna estate that failed to meet fire safety standards,while each relevant homeowner is understood to be facing a bill of €25,000.

 

Resident and local Not Our Fault Campaign Spokesperson Lorraine Carew says its vital payments are processed as soon as possible.
