Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend day two of the 2013 National Ploughing Championships in Co Laois today.

81 thousand people turned out yesterday for the opening of the three day event at Ratheniska near Stradbally.

Motorists are again being advised to allow plenty of time for journeys to the site and to adhere to the Garda traffic plan.

As well as the exhibitions and trade stands, the ploughing competitions of course continue today.

Clare had one competitor take part in those events yesterday – Sinead Corbett from Newmarket on Fergus finished in fourth place in the Under-28 Conventional Junior Grade event.
