The head of the Ennis Garda District says organised begging is taking place in the town, and has described it as being like a business.
This year has seen five people arrested for harassment or intimidation while begging in Ennis, and none of those individuals live here.
Superintendent Derek Smart says they have travelled to Ennis for the purpose of begging, and he's encouraging people with any suspicions to report those to Gardaí.
