A North Clare Councillor doesn’t believe towns and villages around the county’s main tourist attractions are getting the most out of their success.

Elected representatives have this week heard about what’s being described as an ‘equal threat’ along with opportunity for villages such as Kilfenora and Miltown Malbay to benefit from tourism footfall locally.

It comes as work is continuing on the Cliffs of Moher 2040 Strategy, which will be a masterplan for the attraction going forward.

Lisdoonvarna-based Fine Gael Councillor Joe Garrihy says a greater spread of benefit across the region is needed.
