There are calls for immediate action as storm damage reports show almost 24 million euro is required to repair Clares coastline after the damage inflicted by Storm Christine.

Clare County Council last night submitted a Preliminary Storm Damage Report with an assesment of funding needed to the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.

The largest bill is seen in Lahinch with works in that area costing over 5.8 million euro, elsewhere workings in Kilbaha are set to reach nearly three-and-a-half million with repairs in New Quay costing almost two million euro.

Over two-point-five million is set to be spent at Cloughaninchy in Quilty however  Lahinch Fine Gael Councillor Bill Slattery says people in this area need immediate action.
