Over half of the 30,000 cars tested in Ennis last year failed their initial tests, meaning many drivers have to make a second long journey for a re-test, even if the initial faults discovered can be minor.
Councillor Keating’s calls have been backed by his fellow Clare Councillors, and he thinks West Clare drivers are currently being hit with unnecessarily high costs.
