Cancer expert gives evidence at Carmody Trial

A cancer expert giving evidence at the trial of former Clare GP Pascal Carmody described him as a caring physician who was interested in doing good for his patients.

Mr Colin Hopper also told Ennis Circuit Court that he found it miraculous a cancer patient treated by Mr Carmody survived as long as he did.

He went to Dr Carmody’s East Clinic, Killaloe, in 2003 to examine the cancer treatments on behalf of the authorities and his subsequent report suggested that at least some of the alternative treatments had a beneficial effect.
