The Irish Cancer Society is seeking Clare volunteers for Daffodil Day next month, as it reveals figures showing the assistance given to people in the county last year.

129 availed of the society’s information service, while over 60,000 euro in financial aid was provided to people in the county.

35,000 of this paid for 98 nights of care for Clare residents, with the remainder coming in the form of financial aid and travel grants.

The Irish Cancer Society is seeking to fundraise 3.7 million euro in this year’s Daffodil Day, up from 3.3 million last year.

The people of Clare donated over 50,000 to the society last year.
