The streets of Clare’s County Town will be car free today and tomorrow as the countdown to Christmas continues.
In keeping with the festive atmosphere, O’Connell Street, O’Connell Square and Abbey Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 11am to 6pm today and tomorrow as efforts to encourage people to shop local continue.
Car parks across the town will be free and there’ll be music in the Square in Ennis today to entertain shoppers and businesses.

Kilrush shoppers can also park for free from today up unitl Christmas Eve
However, the limit is two hours and motorists are being warned that if they abuse this, they will face fines.
The town council are encouraging people to shop locally.
