Management at Clare Accessible Transport say they’re hopeful that the group will continue to serve people in the county even after the government completes it’s review of the rural transport network.

Junior Transport Minister Alan Kelly has this week told Clare FM that while changes to the overall network needs to be implemented, and that no final decision has been made, he said any new structures will incorporate the current service in Clare.

Grave concerns were expressed for Clare Accessible Transport earlier this year after a leaked report stated the current 35 community based companies nationwide would be abolished and replaced with 8 regional authorities.

However, Assistant Manager Graham Lightfoot says they remain optimistic about their future.
