Mid West businesses believe increased connectivity to mainland Europe through Shannon Airport will be the key to its sustainability in the months and years ahead.
They have called on all stakeholders in the region with an involvement or input into Shannon Airport to fully explore every option that can contribute to maximizing the use of the airport.
Yesterday the head of the DAA David Dilger admitted that Shannon isn’t likely to turn a profit this year but that its well on its way to a turnaround and it needs now to streamline costs and focus on Europe and maintain the transatlantic services already in place.
