The first of four flights touched down at Shannon Airport this morning – bringing 1000 children from Chernobyl.
The flight from Minsk is part of The Chernobyl Children’s Project International’s annual airlift of children.
Hundreds of people from across the country gathered at the mid west airport to welcome the children who will stay with host families for the duration of their Irish break.
