Clare’s County Dog Warden is issuing a stern warning to business owners after a child was repeatedly bitten in the face by a stray in the South-East of the county.

The incident took place at a shop in Mountshannon over the weekend, where its understood the child bent down to pet the dog known to frequent the area.

Its understood the child required several facial stitches, including a number under the eye, following the attack.

Clare’s County Dog Warden, Frankie Coote is appealing to the public not to feed dogs unknown to them.
