The PRO Tuam Mother and Baby Home Alliance says the state’s formal apology to those who werre illegally adopted doens’t go far enough.

The Children’s Minister, Roderic O’Gorman, yesterday said sorry, on behalf of the government, in the Seanad.

He apologised for the ‘deep hurt’ experienced by people affected by illegal birth registrations.

Breeda Murphy from the Tuam Mother and Baby Home Alliance, who’s relative in Clare was illegally adopted, has told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that what victims received wasn’t a state apology.
