Claims that Clare tourism turning a corner

It’s claimed the tourism sector in Clare is turning a corner.

The three main bodies which drive visitor numbers in the region, Shannon Development, Failte Ireland and Tourism Ireland have been outlining their plans for the months ahead.

Among the key issues highlighted by the agencies are; investment in the overseas market, which accounts for 63% of Ireland’s tourism revenue, the home holiday market and promoting Shannon airport.

Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland Niall Gibbons says Ireland has turned a corner in relation to tourist figures with overseas markets performing well.
