Clare has been allocated over €2 Million in funding for Housing Adaption grants.
The scheme which aims to facilitate independent living by contributing to neccessary upgrade works in the home for elderly and disabled people will offer individual grants ranging from €6,000 to €30,000.
20% of the funding for the Banner county was provided by Clare County Council representing over €458,000, while the remaining €1.8 million provided in exchequer funding , brings Clare’s total to approximately €2,291,005.
The Department Of Housing, Local Government & Heritage estimate that over 12,300 older and disabled people will benefit from the intiative which has seen over €83 milion delivered nationwide.
