Clare-Based Ukrainian Native Doesn’t Predict Tension Over Use Of Vacant Social Housing For Refugees

A Clare-based Ukrainian native is dismissing the possibility of waning support for her people over vacant social housing being brought back into use for refugees.

Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien brought a memo to Cabinet this week proposing that empty social homes are put back into use for both refugees and those on the local authority housing waiting lists.

The Chair of Clare County Council’s Housing Committee, Councillor Gerry Flynn, says the proposals lack ‘substance’ and ‘fairnes’.
