Clare Branch Of Irish Red Cross Urgently Appealing For Volunteer Drivers

The Clare branch of the Irish Red cross says it’s facing a serious shortage of drivers for its community support vehicle.

Having first been established in 2016, the voluntary service completed around 8,800 voluntary hours in 2021, with almost 5,000 of those on community services alone.

The Clare Area Treasurer and Community Support Officer says the pendemic has resulted in an increased need for services, particulary for the elderly or vulnerable or for those in isolated rural areas.
