Clare Businesses Hail Economic Godsend Of All-Ireland Win

Clare businesses are hailing the economic godsend of an All-Ireland victory.

The Banner faithful came out in force across the county this week to revel in the celebrations for Liam McCarthy’s first stay in eleven years.

Every square inch of County Clare has been transformed to a saffron and blue stronghold this week.

The victorious Clare Senior Hurlers will be aiming to visit every GAA club in the county through the course of their homecoming tour and every Cúl Camp by the end of next month.

On Monday evening alone, over 35,000 attended the main homecoming event at the fair green in Ennis and in the aftermath the crowds spilled out to the streets of the county town to revel in the joy of the occasion.

Cian Guilfoyle Owner of Patrick’s Bar in the Market says it was the best day he has ever seen as a local trader.

A new business to Clare is also hailing the public elation and economic boost amid a challenging period for small and medium businesses.

Owner of Ryan’s Traditional Fish and Chips in Ennis, Dan Ryan who’s originally from Kerry wishes Clare will could win the All-Ireland every year.

Lahinch, Miltown Malbay, Feakle, Tulla, Scariff, Ballyea, Clarecastle and Ennis are just some of the destinations that Brian Lohan’s men have crossed off the list so far and on every stop, they have been welcomed by capacity crowds.

Former Publican and Ennis Chamber President Darragh McAllister says the seismic lift of the All-Ireland win is not just inspiration the next generation of hurling heroes, but reminding business owners there role is worthwhile and important.
