Neighbourhoods in Scarriff, Mountshannon and Ballynacally are the big winners in a competition honouring the work of Clare Communities.
Connaught Road in Scarriff was named as the Best Kept Local Authority Estate at an awards ceremony in Ennis last night, while Ballynacally Tidy Towns was announced as overall winner of the Clare in Bloom Competition.
The Mayor's Environmental Award went to Mountshannon Community Council, while Clare's Four Pride of Place Participants from Clarecastle, Killaloe, Lisdoonvarna and Tuamgraney were also honoured by Councillor John Crowe who praised the efforts of all communities involved in the successful council initiative.
