Clare councillor fearful disability services may be damaged after the budget

The Manager of the Clare Crusaders believes money gained by people with disabilities following the budget will go towards private health care services.

The respite care grant will be restored to its full value of 1700 euro as part of a 19.6 billion allocation to the Department of Social Protection next year.

Barefield Independent Councillor Ann Norton says the funding should never have been cut in the first place.

And she believes little has been done to improve services for people with disabilities
