Clare’s County Dog Warden is reaching out for help from the public due to what he’s described as alarming levels of dogs being surrendered.

There’s ongoing concern about the level of dogs being given up after the pandemic, with 19 shelters nationally running out of space within a two week period.

County Dog Warden, Frankie Coote says Clare Dog Shelter can’t keep up with the volume of pets being surrendered, while there has been issues this week in transporting dogs to Sweden.

He says they need as much help from the public as possible.
