A Clare general election candidate is hailing today’s farmer protest in Dublin City Centre as a very positive movement.
Around 400 farmers from the Individual Farmers Organisation, which is made up of members of all farming organisations and none, are expected to take part.

They’re promising a “significantly larger” protest than the previous ones, which saw traffic in the city centre grind to a halt as farmers called for a higher price for their produce.
Quilty farmer Joseph Woulfe, who is Clare Chair of the Beef Plan Movement, is encouraged by the collaborative approach for today’s event:
