Two Clare Fianna Fail members have been successfully elected to the party’s Committee of 20 group.
Ennis members Garrett Greene and Eoin Neylon – were both vying for a position on the committee – which is a key element of the party’s ruling.
Their selection followed a vote at Fianna Fáil’s Ard Fheis in Dublin over the weekend – which also saw the county’s newest member – former Green Party councillor Brian Meaney attend.
He has already indicated his intention to seek to be included on the party ticket for next year’s local elections, while a number of sitting councillors as well as past representatives and other new members may also express interest.
But Garrett Greene who himself has expressed an interest in possibly running – doesn’t feel it will be an overcrowded field.
