Clare FM Secures Six Nominations For IMRO National Radio Awards

Clare FM has picked up six nominations in Ireland’s most prestigious radio awards competition.

The Shortlist for the 2024 IMRO Radio Awards, which honour the best in Irish radio, has been unveiled today.

In what’s widely dubbed in the industry as Irish Radio’s Oscar’s, Clare FM, which was awarded Local Station of the Year last year, has once again been recognised for it’s outstanding contribution to broadcasting.

The banner’s local station has received six nominations; the highest number the station has ever obtained in a given year.

Clare FM’s first nomination comes in the Documentary Category for the feature length special ‘Concrete Jungle’, which was produced by Programming Director Padraic Flaherty and told the story of Clare connections to 9/11.

Atlantic Tales, produced and presented by Pat Flynn received a nomination in the Magazine Programme category, while Clare FM was also recognised in the short feature category for it’s “story behind the song”.

Morning Focus Presenter Alan Morrissey and Clare FM Sports Editor Derrick Lynch were nominated for Local Speech Broadcaster of the Year and Local Sports Broadcaster of the Year respectively.

Clare FM is also in the running once again for Local Station of the Year.

The Awards ceremony takes place at the Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny on October 4th.
