Clare gears up for 2014 Heritage Week

From the life and times of the inventor of the submarine, to a tour of Lisdoonvarna's restorative waters there's dozens of events happening for Heritage Week in Clare.

Over 80 activities will be on offer across the county over the next ten days.

National Heritage Week aims to build awareness and education about our history.

This year sees tours of St. Senan’s Monastery on Scattery Island, Lisdoonvarna's restorative waters take place and of towerhouses around Shannon Town.

While in Liscannor the life and times of the inventor of the Submarine John P Holland will be celebrated.

In Quin there'll be an outing at the village's Friary and Earthworks.

The Cliffs of Moher will welcome the students of St Anne's Community College to preform the Kincora Call.

Also on the agenda  an aviation show at the Atlantic AirVentrue centre and a Butterfly Hunt at the Vandeleur walled garden in Kilrush.
