A Clare Government TD insists funding for a Model 3 hospital in Clare should be included in the upcoming budget.
Meelick Fianna Fáil Deputy Cathal Crowe is calling for a portion of the €14 billion Apple tax windfall due to the Irish Government to be invested in an additional emergency department in the Midwest.
The Government is yet to commit to another Model 3 hospital in this region, with the findings of the HIQA-led review examining if a second ED is needed here not expected to be published until May of next year.
As Budget 2025 is now two weeks away, Deputy Crowe believes it wouldn’t be premature for the State to already be putting plans in place.
