The Clare-based Deputy Leader of the Green Party claims she’s “genuinely concerned” for the future of renewable energy in Ireland if her party isn’t in the next Government.

It comes as new data from the Green Collective shows July was the second-best month on record for solar energy in Ireland with 3.5% of all energy generated coming from solar panels.

Of the 15,902 properties fitted with solar panels nationwide so far this year, 505 have been in Clare.

Inagh Green Senator Roisín Garvey says embracing renewable energy is essential and believes her party is the only one committed to making the change happen.
