Clare IFA Seeks Ongoing Support From Councillors Ahead Of Meeting Tonight

The Clare branch of the Irish Farmers’ Association is calling for councillors’ ongoing support for its cause ahead of a meeting tonight.

A public gathering will be held on the farm of Rosaleen O’Reilly in Quin tonight at 7pm as part of the IFA’s ‘Enough is Enough’ which aims to highlight the level of bureaucracy facing farmers.

A meeting of IFA representatives and local councillors in March heard that 12,000 people, or 20% of the county’s working population, are employed in farming here, while the average age of a farmer in Clare is 59.
